Sasuke frees Suigetsu from his hydro capsule, and requests for Suigetsu to join up with him in his quest. Suigetsu responds that he would gladly do it, on condition that he helps him find Zabuza's Blade. They fail to find Zabuza's Blade at his grave, but learn that it is in the possession of a man named Tenzen Daikoku. They head out, and Suigetsu gets the blade without much effort. As promised, Suigetsu joins up with Sasuke, and goes with him to pick up the second member of his team.

Obito decides to donate his left Sharingan eye to Kakashi and asks him to protect Rin. Kakashi then protects Rin from the enemy ninja before losing consciousness. ASasuke asks where Itachi is and slices through Tobi to get to Deidara. Tobi is unfazed, shocking Sasuke, and Deidara gauges Sasuke's skills with his C1-level Detonating Clay. Sasuke escapes the explosions that ensue from Deidara's assaults, forcing him to rely on his C2 Dragon. Deidara and Tobi then begin their combined assaults, but Sasuke out manuevers all of the pair's efforts and destroys the C2 Dragon. Deidara remembers his previous defeat at the hands of Itachi and, in rage, prepares his C4 Karura.
